The Yoga Coach Approach

Integrative Perspective

An integrative, holistic approach considers the natural complexity of each whole person: neurophysiology, context and circumstance.

Personalised, evidence-based, integrative interventions help people to understand, adapt, preserve and/or restore capacity and function, to whatever extent is reasonably possible for their individual, ever-changing reality.

Inclusive Practice

Adaptive Yoga, Chair Yoga and Integrative Yoga allow more people the opportunity to benefit from holistic training.  Yoga includes physical yoga poses and exercises (asana), breathwork (pranayama), mindfulness and meditation (dharana & dhyana), and relaxation (nidra).  The mantra: "Guide from clarity, with compassion" supports my intention to be aware of, and compassionate toward different people's unique experience, in my life-work as a Coach, and Trainer.

"I shall be 70 next birthday and my weekly yoga session is keeping me flexible. I find I can move easily and still have a good range of movement. It's keeping stiffness at bay!"

Practice philosophy

Practice Philosophy

The Yoga Coach practice centres on jnana yoga: yoga of knowing or insight.  My work encompasses study and practice, teaching and training, mentoring and coaching.  I work intuitively and facilitatively, giving space for clients’ individual perspectives and abilities, in the moment.

Our bodies, minds, energies and emotions are unique and forever changing, amidst and in response to experience.  They are never entirely fixed, static or constant.  This means that we are each best placed to learn for and from ourselves what works for us in any moment or situation.  My role as Coach & Trainer is to support a 'fine-tuning' of focus and attention so this can happen; then offering practical suggestions and techniques to support movement and progression.

Whilst I welcome and have worked with a diverse range of people, I specialise in working with clients with specific health concerns, and with Highly Sensitive People.  I encourage all my clients to focus on their core intention for their personal health and wellbeing.  This inspires motivation for personal growth and development.
